Ballet

This classical style of dance teaches poise, grace and is the foundation of all dance. Ballet class is a structured environment, which emphasizes proper body alignment, and works to improve technique at the barre, traveling across the floor, and center floor. Students will be encouraged to learn and use ballet vocabulary to have full knowledge of this dance style. Dancers may learn variations from classical ballets, as well as original contemporary and classical choreography.  

Jazz This upbeat style of dance focuses technique and style. A jazz class will teach the basic steps of jazz, and incorporate them with turns, kicks, leaps and jumps. Jazz styles may vary, but all styles encompass sharpness and precision, high energy, and lots of fun. Jazz dancers will learn proper stretching techniques, practice steps across the floor, and work on combinations in different styles of jazz. Jazz is a perfect introduction to dance for dancers of any age.  
Hip Hop Similar to what is seen on music videos, hip hop is a high energy type of dance that does not focus on technique. Hip Hop class focuses on body movement, rhythm, and coordination. The dancers have fun bouncing, shaking and grooving to music across the floor or in a combination. If you are looking for a class to let loose and just have fun, hip-hop would be your class of choice.  
Lyrical This style of dance is a combination of ballet and jazz. Lyrical offers the grace and poise of a ballet class, with out the conformity of the classical style. The class is influenced by jazz technique, and emphasizes feeling and emotion in the choreography. Lyrical helps improve extension, expression and softness. Due to the technical difficulty of this style, we require that dancers have 3 years of continuous jazz experience prior to enrolling.  
Musical Theatre Musical theatre offers a combination of dancing, singing and acting, all in one class. The dancers will learn combinations set to music from Broadway Musicals and popular On Screen Musicals. Musical Theatre will help to improve showmanship and stage presence, as well as teach dancers a wide range of character dancing. This class is great for any students with an interest in theatre work, or those students just wishing to improve their ability to perform.  
Acro An acro class teaches students a variety of gymnastics tricks. The classes are taught to enhance upper body strength, increase back and leg flexibility, and educate students on the correct execution of tumbling moves. Students are spotted on moves to obtain the confidence in order to execute them. Acro classes teach tumbling moves that are appropriate to the skill level. As students master specific moves, they may advance to the next skill level. Acro class is a fun filed class for any student wishing to broaden their abilities or just wanting to learn the basics of gymnastics.  
Cheer & Acro or Cheer/Stunts/Acro This class introduces the basic moves performed by cheerleaders. Students will learn all of their cheer jumps, and work on acrobatic moves relative to cheerleading. High School and Middle School classes will also work on basic stunting seen by cheer squads, such as pyramids and partner work. Students will learn a variety of cheers and dance combinations relative to cheerleading. This is a highly recommended class for anyone looking to try out for their school cheer squad.  
Ballet/Tap/Acro
(3 – 4 yrs)
This introductory level class introduces the fundamentals of Ballet, Tap and Acrobatics. The class teaches the basic steps in these dance styles, and introduces the structure of a dance class to young dancers. Steps are taught with an emphasis on fun and creative movement. Teachers provide a warm and positive environment, by using songs and other props as teaching tools. These classes are 50 minutes.  
Combination Classes Variety of combination classes are offered for different age groups and dance styles. These classes instruct the basics of dance style, teaching the proper warm up, learning moves across the floor and presenting combinations appropriate to the level and style of dance. Combinations classes are excellent for dancers looking for a sample of multiple styles of dance. Classes are offered in the following combinations: Ballet/Tap, Jazz/Acro, Jazz/Hip Hop, Ballet/Jazz, & Jazz/Tap. Please refer to the schedule for appropriate ages and levels.  
Boys Hip Hop Who says dance is just for girls? Boy’s Hip Hop teaches boys the fundamentals of hip-hop, while increasing coordination and confidence. The boys are taught choreography specific to them, high energy, strong and powerful. Boys may also learn break dance or tumbling moves, which works to increase their upper body strength. Class is strictly for Boys, making the learning environment comfortable and lots of fun.  
Pointe Ballet class will be taken on pointe, and dancers will learn the correct execution of pointe dancing. Dancers taking a pointe class are required to take two other ballet classes a week. Pre Pointe class will also be available to prepare those dancers for pointe class. Class participation will be by invitation only in order to participate in both Pre Pointe and Pointe.  
Jazz Technique classes  This class offers an entire class of across the floor and center floor technique. Class focus will be on the proper execution of jazz technique in turns, kicks, leaps, and jumps. Center floor combinations and routines will not be taught. This class is offered only at an intermediate and advanced level. Dancers wishing to participate will need a teacher recommendation.  
Stretch & Conditioning  A full hour of stretching and strengthening specifically for dancers. Students will learn various partner stretches, and learn how to increase entire body flexibility. Dancers will also do conditioning exercises to improve strength and ability. Center floor combinations and routines will not be taught.
